Less is More #234

Morning all, are we ready for a new Less is More challenge?
Well we have a CELEBRATION today ... our CAS queen and leader,
Chrissie, is taking the week off! BUT that's not the reason!

Chrissie is celebrating a very special birthday this weekend so
she's putting her feet up or kicking off those heels and dancing
and partying to the small hours as she'll be 70 years young!

It's recipe week and we'd like you to use Snippets
(basically left overs, bits of scrap card/design paper/string)

What's more we have a guest designer for one week only the
Queen of Snippets herself ... Di of Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground
so I do hope you'll make her feel welcome and pop across to her blog
with some super friendly feedback.

Here's my cards ... not only is Chrissie celebrating this year but
both my Dad and Mother-in-Law too so here's my Dad's card!

Card Recipe:
Having raided the snippets box and tipped the bin upside down
for bits of kraft card and red holographic here's what else I've used!
MFT Die-namics: Inside Out Diagonal Stitched rectangles
Avery Elle: Count on it Dies
Clearly Besotted: For Everyone sentiment
Handmade & fuzzy cut paint palate with Doodlebug sprinkles
Die-cut paintbrush has been in my stash forever.

I'd like to enter this at Inkspirational: Anything Goes with Kraft and

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Next up having stumbled across some ready-cut zig-zag strips
in the snippets box I added a few more from scraps to make a rainbow!

I pieced them all together onto some paper then die-cut the
number 70 before replacing the centre of the zero using
Avery Elle Count on it dies.
The 'Happy' sentiment is from Uniko and stamped with Ranger dye ink.
To finish some coordinating Doodlebug sprinkles.

The last one uses more off-cuts and positive '70' from the above card
with the 'happy' sentiment from Clearly Besotted embossed with Hero Arts white EP.
This one has hopefully arrived at Chrissie's house and as you read this it
will be sitting in 'pride of place' on the dining table of course!!!

With our wonderful Guest Designer, Di in attendance this week
I couldn't NOT enter a card over at Pixies Crafty Snippet's playground!
So this one is heading over and if I miss sliding under the gates
today I'll have to pop it in tomorrow.

Thanks for staying with me to the end of this lengthy post!
I do hope you'll pop over to the main blog to check out the
creations from the rest of the DT and Di's card of course.

So I'll just finish with a huge
CONGRATULATIONS CHRISSIE!
Have a brilliant birthday and loads of fun!

Uniko Challenge #23 Reminder

Morning all, have you entered the latest challenge at Uniko
as there's still time to do so and I'm here with a quick reminder card.

The theme this time is Black & White with an optional splash of another.
I've gone all Christmassy so my splash is 'red'

Card recipe:
Uniko: Rustic Christmas & Simply Said: Christmas
Impression Obsession: Heart of Hearts die
Pink Petticoat: gingham DP
Mama Elephant: Landscape Trio dies

I'd like to enter this card over at Merry Monday and I'm literally hanging
my head in shame as I've missed this challenge for quite a few weeks
and it was my new years resolution to enter every week! Tut Tut!
The theme for their challenge is 'Add a Heart' - I've added several!

Also the theme at the brand new Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers
is 'Tree' so it would be rude not to head across there too!

I do hope you get the chance to join in the Uniko challenge
and if you head across to the main blog HERE there's more inspiration
from the DT along with details of the prizes you could win.

Thanks as always for stopping by and I'll be back
tomorrow with the latest challenge from Less is More
so hope to see you then.

Cocktails and Flowers

Hello crafty friends, I feel like I've been MIA recently although I have been 'trying'
to make some cards! I'm in mid kitchen revamp and I think my mojo
could be in a packing box somewhere but I've no idea which one!!!

Anyway my buddy and fellow teamie at Less is More, Anita,
is the MUSE this week and I couldn't wait to support her
in her first DT week, plus her card is just awesome!

I've kept my card very close to Anita's as I adore the colours she used.
Sadly I don't have 'scribble / doodle' flowers in my stash so I die-cut then
inlaid the centres of some gerbera flowers from MFT Die-namics.
I love the 'dotty' detail! Also inlaid are the stems, using Clearly Besotted,
Sweet Rose with a sentiment also from Clearly Beostted: Say it in Style set.
To finish there's a strip of DP from Echo Park and a Dotty line using
Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes dies.

Here's Anita's yummy card ...

My next card is to enter the CASology challenge where the cue card
is 'Line' ... can I go with a line of drinks / cocktails in this case!

Card Recipe:
Paper Smooches: Free Spirits stamps and dies
Coloured with Zig Clear Brush pens then winked with stella
and coated in glossy accents. To finish a strip of DP from Doodlebug.

I'd also like to drop this in at Simon Says Stamp, Wednesday Challenge
where it's sparkle and shine. I'm not sure the WOS is visible in the photo
but these drinks are smothered with glossy accents for added shine.

Thanks as always for calling by my blog and if you are interested here are
2 pictures of my 'kitchen nightmare' taken last night! My poor ceiling is
riddled with holes and my living room is in the same state today!
It's to be hoped there's a good plasterer turning up tomorrow!

the start of the summer holidays as schools are out!

Excited but not looking forward to camping out whilst it takes place!
Take-away menus lined up and lots of meals out booked!

'Life's a Beach!'

So slap on that sun lotion, grab your shades and
head off to the .... craftroom! Here's my examples and

Card Recipe:
Lawn Fawn: Life is Good - sentiment and crabs, these are
coloured using Stabilo pens then covered with glossy accents
The 'sea' is coloured with distress inks onto watercolour card
then simply torn to make the 'froth' look at the edge of the water.

My next card uses the same set from Lawn Fawn with my
'white space' being a wide border around the centre images.

Card Recipe:
Lawn Fawn: Life is Good
My Favourite Things: Sun Ray stencil
Clearly Besotted: sentiment from Dandelion Dreams
Doodlebug DP for the flip flop and glossy accents
for added detail to the little scene and crab

Uniko - July Release Day and Blog Hop

Hey I'm back with a another post today
and this time it's the full REVEAL, RELEASE and BLOG HOP
of the new stamp sets from

If you've been following me and the rest of my teamies
on the Design Team over the last few days the waiting is now over!
The sets are available to purchase from today and if you join
the blog hop and comment along the way you'll be in with a chance
of winning all 3 sets ... more details at the end of this post.

So here's my cards and first up I'm sharing my card
using the Pure Florals: Cosmos set with a sentiment from
All Occasion Sentiments #1

My hubby kindly bought me some Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens for my birthday
in a few weeks and he's allowed me to use them early so this is my first attempt with them.
So far I love them and hope you are inspired by my card.

For my second card I've teamed the floral garland from Garlands Galore
with the Flower Power #7 stamp to match and a sentiment from Flower Power #1

I  couldn't resist adding a third using Garland Galore with a sentiment
from Home Sweet Home! Think I may have gone a bit mad on the
'orange' tones using my distress inks and splatters of water!

Before I send you off on the hop here's the images of
the stamp sets available to purchase at the Uniko from today

So it's blog hop time now and if you want to be in with a chance
of winning the new release sets please comment along the way.

Nikki
Sarah P (that's me)

Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

Less is More #232

Hello there friends are we ready for a new challenge from

Less is More

We are back round to our 'not so popular'
ONE Layer Card week!
and the theme is Masculine - Aren't we cruel!

If it's any consolation I wasn't enjoying making these cards this week
but I'm confident you'll 'rock' the challenge as always!

Here's mine:

Card Recipe:
Clearly Besotted: Woodland Pals, Mini Banners, It's Your Birthday
all masked using the matching dies whilst I stencilled the background
using an Artplorations 'Bubble' stencil.
To finish a couple of sparkling doodlebug sprinkles to accent
and some googly eyes I found in my stash.

I'm not sure why I thought an owl was suitable but perhaps because
it just so happens that this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp is
Furry Friends and I notice a couple of their DT have used
flamingos so I'm thinking feathers are furry too? Yeah?

Having used a stencil from Stamplorations I'm also linking this
card up at the 'never-ending' Anything Goes challenge HERE.

The current challenge at Time Out is 'nature' with an
optional twist of Animals so I thought I'd try my
chances over there too with this owl card!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Card Recipe:
Clearly Besotted: Laugh Out Load images and sentiments
Coloured with Zig Clear Clean Brush Pens

The challenge at CASology this week is 'Repeat'
so I'm heading over there with this card and my 'repeat candle stamping'

Ok I'm handing the baton to you crafty folk and looking forward to
checking out your creations this week. Don't forget to head over to the LIM blog
to see what the rest of my teamies have been up to - I'm sure you'll be inspired!

If you've been following my blog this week you may have noticed
we are leading up to a brand new release of stamps over at
Uniko so I'll be back in an hour with the full reveal and blog hop.
Hope you can join me then.

Thanks for stopping by and have some crafty fun!
